What a difference a snowstorm makes!

We hiked from the Alpine Visitor Center at the top of the pass (11,796 ft elev.) on a trail to an overlook at 12,005 ft elevation. Part of the trail was wet and slushy but with my treking poles, I stayed upright the whole time. It was well worth the climb. The elevation didn't bother us much possibly due to the cold-snowy conditions adding more moisture in the air.
