We took a 90 minute guided tour of the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park today. The hotel was built by F.O. Stanley, who is most famous for the Stanley Steamer. Stephen King's book, The Shining, was based on the Stanley. The movie; however, was not filmed at the Stanley Hotel. However, the 6-part mini-series of The Shining was filmed here. For those of you who do not know, the Stanley Hotel is "haunted" and is considered the top haunted hotel in the U.S.
